LED Distance Measurement
1. LED Distance Measurement
If a manufacturer pursues only a high amount of light without considering the light distribution pattern of vehicle headlights, it may cause problems with glare to the driver in the opposite lane and cause an accident. In order to ensure the safety of the driver, for automotive headlights, vehicle safety regulations regulate the proper light distribution pattern and amount of light generated by the headlamps. In the case of LED headlamps, very accurate placement of the LED’s is critical to insure the correct beam pattern is achieved.
‚LED distance measurement‘ is an inspection that measures the X/Y coordinate values from the reference point such as a PCB mounting hole or a fiducial mark to a specific part of the LED and compares them with the design value. This measurement can confirm that the LED is mounted in the correct position.
2. Inspection Method
PARMI Xceed 3D AOI selects the channel with the best discrimination of LED light emitting area among R, G, B, and Gray lighting after component teaching and registers the master image. It measures the distance from the reference point to the center of the LED light emitting area by applying a matching algorithm. The measurement algorithm is based mainly on two reference points, so accurate inspection is possible, even if the PCB is misaligned. Also, measuring the LED distance does not require additional inspection time.
PARMI’s UP TO DATE
PARMI obtained IPC-CFX qualification regarding our SigmaX 3D SPI and is now registered in the IPC-CFX-2591 Qualified Products List (QPL). IPC-CFX is the interface that standardizes machine to machine (M2M) communication in the electronics manufacturing industry. This accreditation officially certifies the defect data traceability and compatibility of the SigmaX product line. We pursue transparent and reliable facility management according to IPC standards, and we can provide optimal M2M solutions to support the intelligent factory.
